Today we witnessed Hillary Clinton appearing to fall ill suddenly. This has been an ongoing issue for some time now. At first, many of us viewed these type of observations as a kind of misogyny
mi·sog·y·ny – məˈsäjənē noun
dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women.
“she felt she was struggling against thinly disguised misogyny”
Every time there has been some sort of headline pointing out Hillary Clinton’s coughing attack or dazed look in her eyes or her laughter its hared to ignore that no one ever seemed very concerned about the mental wellness of George W. Bush.
Fast forward to today is the country really prepared for President Tim Kaine? You know he is next in command IF something happens to Hillary Clinton. And I don’t like him or what he has to offer. He is a corporate man through and through and continues to do the bidding of his corporate masters.
I don’t know what to say other than, “Governor Jerry Brown, what happened to you? Did growing old turn you into the politician you fought so hard against?”
I was on my way to dinner with my husband when Jerry Brown’s name came up. I had no idea that he endorsed Hillary Clinton. I didn’t see this coming. How naive do I feel now? I feel so betrayed and I guess I know now how Linda Ronstadt felt.
“I learned my lesson, it left a scar. Now I see how you really are. You’re no good. You’re no good. You’re no good. Baby you’re no good. I’m gonna say it again. You’re no good, You’re no good. Baby you’re no good.”
It turns out Ms. Zamorano has connections. After years living with my husband and his constant questioning of authority and breaking rules because his father is a retired cop I knew that whatever it took no matter how long the line was I had to get into the event or bribe my way in. (I know its not exactly what the Bernie Sanders campaign would authorize but seriously I drove all the way from Pasadena to Santa Monica at four pm during traffic. I was getting in even with the first hand knowledge of a two mile long line.)
My husband said, “Park the car here and I’ll see you inside.”
I gathered my gear and forgetting my water behind in the car something I regretted immediately as he sped away to find the entrance for the journalists. I spotted a policeman at the front of the gate and asked him where the entrance parking for the news crews and he immediately took a call on his walkie. I stood at the entrance now looking like I belonged. A secret that my husband taught me years ago. Look like you’re suppose to be here and you are.
I eventually made my way through the long maze of a line to get into the stadium. Used the public bathrooms early and almost lost my phone right below. Yuck. That was a close one.
I entered the stadium. My first Bernie Sanders just then a text from “my number one husband” that I had a press pass waiting for me. Yes. I was reporting and I walked away with quite the scoop.
Bernie continues to change the course of the conversation to envision a country that invests in our future. He faces a ton of opposition but the revolution has begun.
Come on California we can make a difference June 7th!
I need to admit, in most of my spare time I read and watch anything about Bernie Sanders progress to earn the Democratic Presidential nomination. I have watched every single debate and town hall meeting because I can’t wait to hear what he has to say. He is a man of substance and has a definite vision for a better future for our country. Sure there are some people who don’t “get” Bernie. I call those people “Mom”. She says, “he’s creepy”. Plus she definitely is not a fan of “free college tuition” because how will people actually value their education if you give it to them free?
“Mom” certainly has a point there especially right now many people not only value their education but they are going into debt for it. What a great graduation gift: a six figure student loan earning interest.
Today Bernie is not having the strongest showing. Hillary seems to have garnered more “Super Delegates”. Can someone please explain to me why “Super Delegates” are necessary? I am not convinced that Howard Dean should have the authority to throw his votes to the candidate he favors instead of actually representing the people. Don’t get me started on “Super Delegates”!
I am pretty proud that Bernie Sanders has made such a significant impact on our political discourse and that he continues to force Democrats to actually acknowledge the will of the people. I believe Bernie can attain the nomination and the next two months will make a huge difference.
Let me say that I had a great deal of anxiety before, during and after the holidays. Yep I really was worried how things would pan out especially since we were hosting Christmas Eve and even decided to double down and throw a last minute New Year’s Eve party. I can vividly recall thinking to myself while I was attempting to organize our home, clean up, decorate, cook and maintain my sanity, “Hey, Stef remember never to do this again.”
Sure it is tons of fun having friends and family over to celebrate the holidays but boy does it require a lot of emotional effort and I’m not so sure after everything is said and done that throwing a party is worth it. We had lots of food (my husband’s lasagna was a big hit), great music (our karaoke was pure hilarious entertainment for all), and more importantly terrific guests (friends and family mixed perfectly) but ultimately I am wiped out. Seriously I love my family and thoroughly enjoy our collection of eclectic friends however just thinking about everything we had to do to prepare for our guests I do not think I have the “emotional bandwidth” to ever do this again.
Note to Self: No need to have a New Year’s Eve party…for another year!
Remember there was a time that no matter what channel you were watching on cable
it seemed like they were rerunning Shawshank Redemption with Morgan Freemon and
Tim Robbins? Now it seems Donald Trump has taken that spot. And I’m sick of it.
That’s why I had to tune in and watch the big debate and see who survived.
Jeb, Ben, Donald, Chris, Marco, Polo, Happy and Grumpy all had their own fangled new tax reform ideas that would magically get our country out of debt; while at the same time increasing the retirement age, do away with Medicare, get rid of Social Security, kick out all those immigrants, and War is a great investment everybody.
Don’t worry about the future America what could possibly go wrong for middle America!
I cannot imagine what it must be like to be a Republican when watching the debates.
“Um he’s good.” Or “He’s real good. Yup that was a good one.” And, “He looks like he’s lost weight.”
So in honor of the GOP debate and Mike Huckabee, for Halloween, I will be dressing up as “Charred Remains!”
Yes I watched the Democratic Debate along with 15 million other people. I guess the entire event was planned by Ms. Debbie Wasserman Schultz chair of the DNC. Wow. Way to go Deb! What a collection of dullards huh? But I’m getting ahead of myself aren’t I. Let us begin with Sheryl Crow. I like Sheryl Crow. I have nothing against Sheryl Crow but with all the talent we have in the United States the Democratic party decided to go with a Sheryl Crow? I’m sure glad theDemocrats committed to their theme of “more white people with white hair please!”
They could have gone with Christina Aguilera– she’s got white hair too–except she’s Ecuadoran. I guess too ethnic. Seriously why not anyone else? Maybe next time the national anthem will be played by a band of Mariachi’s and really freak out conservatives.
Now I was relieved by the civility and cordiality each Democrat running for president demonstrated. Sure Lincoln Chafee, is a nice dude, just impromptu public speaking may not be his thing.
Then there was, “I have a long history of working with the situation of black Americans”, a stand out quote by Jim Webb. Another nice white dude. And then we have Martin O”Malley another nice white dude running for President. All pretty vanilla. (I know. I know we have a president who is half black and white so shut up already.)
Yes Bernie Sanders did a great job getting his message out. They all felt the Burn. And former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stood her ground in a fabulous capish pant suit. I loved the color and the cut of the suit it worked! Yes I know it sounds sexist bringing this up but we were all thinking it.
In the mean time, I still can’t wait until the next Democratic White People Debate! Happy Belated Indigenous People’s Day everybody!
Hey America it appears we are a god fearing, gun toting, xenophobic country. Hurray.
Sure many Americans enjoy chips, salsa and margaritas or going to their favorite Chinese Restaurant but that is where our love for diversity stops!
According to Trump a.k.a. “Fascist Puerco”:
“No employment opportunities? “Blame the Mexicans and build a great wall to keep the riffraff out. Stock Market takes a turn, “Those Chinese are screwing our economy”
Hate the Iran Deal? Solution invade the middle east and take whats ours…all of the OIL. And the Free Market will regulate itself its just that easy.
I don’t know if I can take much more of Donald Trump’s hateful vitriol.
Donald Trump kicked out a journalist from one of his Q&As. And the press cowered!
Donald Trump commanded with a slight nod for his body guard to shove a Mexican journalist out of the room and the press watched and allowed it to happen…in America.
Then when questioned about his behavior Donald Trump flat out LIED again and again about not knowing the journalist’s name or his position at Univision and lie about not even knowing his own body guard’s name man who escorted Jorge Ramos from the room. Every journalist sitting in that room failed to take Trump to task and why is that?
First they built a wall.
Then they came for the Mexicans
Then they came for the journalists
Then they came for the Chinese
Then they came for babies.
And when they came for you but no one was left except the FASCISTS!
If you tuned into the GOP debate last week on FOX pretend NEWS channel you must have noticed that the audience LOVED TRUMP!
He could do no wrong. Even when Megan Kelly quoted him calling some women, “fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals”, the crowd went wild!
Ha, Ha, Ha, we are fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals. Ha, Ha, Ha! Women suck! I heart misogyny!
Maybe I’ve been drinking too many gin martinis and smoking way too much pot but Donald Trump is looking good. He still is way out in front of all other GOPeer’s. He’s kicking ass and taking names not even Chuck Todd can stop him.
The Donald seems to know exactly what America wants. A shit kicking loud mouth; he will tell women how and when they can have birth control, first day in office he’ll throw out all those no good illegals and their “anchor babies”, he also won’t let anyone try to abort an “anchor baby” cuz whose going to build that wall?
Trump already knows that when he’s in office he’ll handle ISIS. He’ll make a great commander in chief after serving NEVER in the military due to a bone spur in his foot. Then he wants to totally get rid of Obamacare and replace it with something spectacular. Plus after he does that he’s going to go back to Iraq and take the oil. Just take it cuz we have to take care of our wounded soldiers and we need the oil cuz we’re America!
I’m so excited about Donald Trump for president I practically have blood coming out of my eyes and other places.
